A 3rd Visit to MacLilley Farms

A warm September Saturday night, Jeff & Ruleen Mac Lilley hosted a small bunch of camera club members to another great dinner.  Before and after dinner we had the opportunity to photograph the horses, the sunset and the wonderful starry sky.

Moonrise at Midnight

Continuing on my night sky theme, these images were all taken within 30 minutes of midnight, back in August.

Star Trail Time Lapses

Something very different.  Straight out of the camera, with no editing, below are links to a couple of time lapse videos.  Click on the link below each photo.

A 45 minute recording squished into 6 seconds is here.  The link will take you to a new window.  You will need to come back here to see the next video.

Here is 90 minutes shown in 19 seconds.  It starts out slow but gets more interesting.

Aylmer Tractor Pull

Canada Day 2017:  Sunshine, rain, mud, people, noise.  That pretty much sums up the day.  Started with bright sunshine and beautiful cloud formations. Then the sky turned black.  I stood under a big tent with a steel post when the thunderstorm started.  I got out of there until early evening.  Rainbows.  Sunset.  Stars.  Bright lights...

Hamilton Waterfalls

Recently there has been lots of press about emergency rescues of people near several waterfalls in the Hamilton area. The following images were all taken before any access limitations were initiated.  At no time did I feel I was in any danger.  Maybe staying away from the edge while near the top of the falls was an idea that did not occur to others.

Red Dress

Who doesn't like a nice warm June evening?  What photographer doesn't want to take images of an attractive model.  I've had the good fortune to work with Ines Nina several times over the past year.  Each shoot is great fun.  Hope to work with Ines again soon.

The Grand Old Lady

Friends of mine told me that they gave this house this nickname.  It seems quite appropriate.   Besides the House of Parliament, I'm thinking this could be one of the most photographed houses in Ontario.  You could say this house is full of character not characters.

Spring Migration

These were taken back in early May at Rondeau Provincial Park and Point Pelee National Park.  As we all  know, the weather this spring/summer has been anything but typical.  In May, it was cool and very few birds had flown north when these shots were taken.  Limited number of varieties seen but those that were here put on a pretty good show.

Trilliums

Ontario's official flower is the Trillium.  The name of my accounting firm is EPR Trillium LLP.  So every year I feel obliged to head out in early May to shoot some trilliums.  There's a private forest nearby that allows the public to enjoy their trails and habitat.  I've never seen meadows of trilliums like this place has.  Here are few shots of other than plain white flowers.

Driftwood

This year the lake swept up lots of driftwood onto the beach at Pt Bruce.  This shot was taken at sunrise in April.

Swan song

It just wouldn't be right for me not to post a photo of a Tundra Swan, taken during their spring migration.  So just to make things right...
