Hoar Frost
Well the night before was cold taking photos on the Thames River but the drive home gave me hope for greater things. Lots of foggy areas. After a leisurely breakfast I grabbed the camera bag and went for another drive. The cold didn't leave quickly. Frost accumulated on my beard quickly when out of the car. My biggest problem was the sheer brightness that wasn't cut enough by sunglasses. Whenever my fingers were getting numb I'd go back in the car and drive to a new spot. Gotta love winter.

Burning Steel Wool
Milky Way and Light Painting
A year ago, for the last new moon of 2020, I went to the pier at Pt Bruce. I stayed off the pier as there appeared to be people fishing. After about a half hour of waiting for them to leave, I was getting frustrated as they seemed to be watching their phones more than fishing. I used my zoom lens and realized they weren't fishing, the light from phones was actually the back of 3 cameras. Some like minded people. I walked up to them as they were really in the prime location. With no moonlight, I couldn't see them but I heard them talking. I knew two of the three voices. We repeated the experience the next night too with steel wool, light wands and a few more friends.

Long Falls
I finally made it back to Long Falls. It's about 4.5 kms along an ATV trail, mostly up hill both ways. Foolish me took a full backpack of camera gear. It was such a nice hike. The torrential rain of two days prior left mini-lakes in the low spots of the ATV trail not to mention bzillions of mushrooms. However, without the rain the waterfalls might have been just a trickle.
