A return trip to this barn did not disappoint.  Even the drive there provided great views with wonderful light.  Once the sun went down we painted the inside and then the outside with light.

Many of you will recall that I somehow don't get to the beach in summer (very often).  This is one of those rare exceptions.  The fact that I had to wear a warm hoodie on this very cool evening made it somehow feel a little more normal (at least for me).

The bright orange light is probably Erie, Pa and/or Cleveland, OH.

Harvards

Yesterday, my father and I attended the 30th anniversary of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association.  The Tillsonburg airport is the home base for the CHAA.  Within seconds of arriving, two Harvards were powered up and taxiing out to the runway.  Shortly after that four more were prep'd with passengers and pilots.  While they were getting ready, I was thinking what a great thing it would be to be one of those passengers.  I shot various angles of these four planes.  As I was finishing up I heard one of the ground crew ask another, "Do we have any air sickness bags?"  Kind of made me a little happier to be staying on the ground.  After they took off, there were other planes, to look at in a "static" display.  During lunch, a ground crew member was seated next to us.  From his walkie talkie we heard that the four planes were about 12 minutes out.  They arrived on schedule performed some maneouvres before landing.

It was great getting so close to these planes before and during take off and then again during landing and afterwards.  All in all, it was a fun few hours watching and learning about these WWII training planes.

Red Deer

A new location for me,  Pleasant Valley Trout Farm.  I believe its an old quarry.  Lots of Canada Geese, some Bufflehead and swallows.  The birds were far too far away for any reasonable shot.  So what's one to do?  Well, there's a couple of red deer by another pond just a few hundred feet up the road.  This doe? was more than happy to come see all the friendly camera club people.  It only took us about 15 minutes to realize she was friendly because we were standing right beside the wagon that held her corn cobs.  Lucky for us it was still fairly early and the colour in the sky was still warm.

Tundra Swans 2015

Past years I've shot thousands of shots of the migrating swans landing, taking off, soaring overhead.  Over the last few days the moon has risen early and bright giving me a new perspective on an age old subject.

France 2014

Last October, Nancy & I had the opportunity to go to Paris for an accounting conference.

We booked a bus tour of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley and then spent a few days before the conference in Paris.  Thanks to some clever conference scheduling, we had the opportunity to see more of Paris and area outside of meeting hours.

Of the over 5,000 images, you get to see just over 50.  I liked how the light struck the subject in many of these shots. Many of you know my love of "street photography.  Shooting from the hip is great fun in crowded area such as the Montmartre section of Paris.
