Wellandport Gas Station

I've probably driven past this site a hundred times, or more.  Every time I say to myself "You must stop sometime".  Well on a recent trip, I was by myself, no one to hurry me along.  I stopped.  Spent only a short while there but left feeling pretty satisfied.

Niagara in Winter

A while ago I visited Niagara Falls and Fifty Point, near Grimsby, ON.  It was the middle of winter, not too cold.  Started out cloudy then the sun started to break out.

Wrecks on 3

A beautiful sunny day.  A wind swept field.  One tree.  Four vehicles.

A New Years Shoot

Frankie wanted a winter snow shoot.  On the scheduled day, the temperature was slightly above freezing so throwing some oatmeal gave us the intended look.  Wouldn't you know it, an hour after we stopped, the snow came.

Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Our last city.  Roman ruins to the extreme.   A forum runs under the main pedestrian walkway.

Sofia, Bulgaria

The capital of Bulgaria.  Another old city.  Roman ruins, churches, cathedrals, mosques, street art and tremendous food.

Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

A very historic city.  Hills and more hills.  Along the river, a communist vacation retreat, now abandoned.  A ruin of its own.

Pele's Castle and Bucharest, Romania

Built in the late 1800's with electricity and indoor plumbing, the woodwork, furniture and windows were beautiful.  Bucharest, the capital of Romania, another great "old town", has so many old churches, restaurants and small streets.

Brasov, Romania

On the edge of the Carpathian mountains, Brasov is a city that has a dynamic "Old Town" and a Hollywood style city sign. We took an excursion to one of Vlad the Impaler's castles.  A cable car ride up the mountain gives great city scapes.

Sighisoara, Romania

This medieval village turned out to be a wonderful place to visit.  Buildings dating back many centuries.  Town clock, cobble stone roads, home to Vlad the Impaler - all survived two world wars and decades of Communism.
