Delaware Speedway

Another infield special event.  Five hours of walking the inside loop of the track.  From full sun through sunset to complete night under the lights.

Southern Alberta

We spent several days driving around southern Alberta in mid-May.  From Banff to Pincher Creek, from Waterton National Park to Writing on Stone Provincial Park taking byways and gravel highways.

Northern Lights

We were just outside Banff, AB, when my phone app told me that we had a KP index of 9.  I'd never seen that before.  A couple of hours later, based on a local's suggestion, we were inside Banff National Park, along a small lake with mountains, amongst hundreds of friends that we'd never met.  We had a front row view of what some people are describing as the best viewing of the Lady Arora our southern Canadian generation has ever seen.

Solar Eclipse

Like almost all shutter bugs, I played hooky on the afternoon of April 8th.   I joined a few photographers for about four hours as we took hundreds or thousands photos.  Here are just a few of the shots that I liked right of the get go.

London Veledrome

I had a chance for infield access at the London Veledrome.  Nothing like being so close to the cyclists that their breeze not only moved my hair but my coat too.

Sandhill Cranes

We were driving towards Port Dover on a cloudy, damp, windy March afternoon.  The only brightness were these cranes and their mating dances.
